Above is an over all picture of a Printing
International PI/*2250-E Pad Printer that was originally equipped with a Jetter PLC and 2 servo drives in each head.
The master PLC was a Telemechanique that had been discontinued. This project involved removing the 5 PLC's and installing
a new Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC. Eight Sercos servo drives were installed in the 4 print heads. 1794 Flex I/O
on Controlnet was installed in each head. The ring and transfer AC drives were removed and Powerflex 70 drives on Controlnet
were installed.

New Control Logix PLC with Controlnet &
Sercos communications. Existing I/O slot addressing was maintained to the original Telemechanique installation.
250 I/O terminations were done in a very small location. The original cabling was removed from the swing arms and landed
on the new terminal strip.

PLC and servo drive.

Two Panelview 600 Color units
were added to each ring for operator setpoints for the entire machine. The crawling in and out of each ring was eliminated
since the units were mounted in a swing arm assembly. Communiation was done with Controlnet.

drives and 1794 Flex I/O. Look - NO PLC!
